Poetry

I do not call myself a poet but the rhythm of words pleases and fascinates me. I often find that when I am in a stress mode or emotional turmoil that composing something about it helps reground me as I seek appropriate rhythms, words and moods.

My poems are personal, rather narrative, and usually unrhymed - perhaps more therapeutic than artistic - but those that make it to my blog are the ones I am satisfied with and willing to share.

If you are intimidated by the idea of writing poetry, perhaps thinking it is lofty and difficult, these poems should encourage you to try your hand just to enjoy the rhythms and sounds of the words and the feelings and pictures they evoke.

This page will not be updated as often as the prose pages because I am not often "driven to poetry."
