Politics: HELLO, WASHINGTON ???

This is the American People calling.
We thought you should know that, in spite of media attempts to make news over the details of your squabbles, we’re on to you. We know there have been only three things going on in government since Election 2010: three kinds of nothing except looking out for your jobs. We don't like our tax dollars paying for your campaigns and we have some ideas about changing that....

Mitch McConnell warned us. The Republicans aren’t going to govern. Their primary agenda is not jobs, or debt reduction, but “making Obama a one term president.” They’ve been true to that agenda at the expense of the country’s well-being.

The Democrats can’t govern because they’re trying to figure out how to recreate a majority in both houses of Congress, so their response to bills and to the leader of their party depends on whether or not supporting him - in this bill, that bill, or in general - will get them re-elected.

The President is trying to govern  through a hostile, self-interested Congress to pull the country out of the hole created by the last administration, banks, the housing bubble collapse and Wall Street while being advised by condescending “experts” who defy his leadership at will. In this environment, in spite of efforts to tackle big problems, he can only make progress on small stuff like patent process improvements and medals of honor. At least his maximum term limit is already set.

We’re on to you and you will see us voting state by state to get rid of incumbents in both parties because you are using our economic fears and woes as a mandate to behave like mules and have betrayed our trust at great expense to 98% of the people you were hired to serve.

Also, we will be starting a grass roots movement to put two referendums on the 2012 ballot in every state: one requesting a Constitutional Amendment limiting Senators to two consecutive terms and no paid association with federal government (Representative, advisor, lobbiest, etc.) for four years thereafter, and Representatives to four consecutive terms with no paid association with federal government (Senator, advisor, lobbiest, etc.) for four years thereafter so that maybe we can get  some work out of you. The second referendum will be to limit all campaign contributions from any source to $1,000.00/year.

You'll be hearing from us in 2012.
Bye....
